Students from all years of the school were invited to submit a photograph inspired by the title “My Suffolk”. Entries were sent to our special e-mail address as a jpeg. There were four prizes on offer, and here are the winners with some editorial comments.

FIRST PRIZE
“Cows crossing at Flatford Mill” Dexter Connor
This quiet scene of cows crossing the Stour at Flatford and the landscape beyond inevitably reminds us of Suffolk’s most famous artist, John Constable, who depicted a peaceful way of life and had a deep insight into nature.

JOINT SECOND PRIZE
“Samson’s Tower” Lily Zamora-Tranter
An imaginative combination of a self portrait fused successfully with architectural features of Samson’s Tower, the SW octagon of the Abbey’s ruined West Front.

JOINT SECOND PRIZE
“ Suffolk Sunset” Cleo Richmond
The strong sense of perspective inviting us into the distance captures a striking view of a dramatic sunset for which Suffolk is renowned.

FOURTH PRIZE
“Trees” Elizabeth Mead
The foreground tree battered by the elements is a captivating image which contrasts so effectively with the calm of the sunlit scene beyond.
